GoWave and its affiliates (hereinafter referred to as “we”) recognize the importance of protecting your personal information. We have established this Privacy Policy to clearly explain how your information is collected, used, and protected. We encourage you to read it carefully before using our livestream system and related services, so you can make informed decisions.

This Privacy Policy will help you understand:

1. We collect and use your personal information strictly in accordance with this Policy. Your acceptance of the Privacy Policy does not mean we will collect your personal data indiscriminately or without specific purpose.

2. When you use or enable related features or services, we will collect and use relevant information necessary for providing these functions or services. Unless the data is essential for basic business operations or legally required, you may refuse to provide it without affecting other functionalities or services. We will specify in the policy which information is necessary.

3. If you do not log in to an account, we will use device identifiers to support basic notification functions. If you are logged in, we will use your account information for notifications.

4. To help you discover more friends, we may request access to your contacts.

5. We respect your right to choose. If you do not wish to be recommended to others, you may turn off this function at any time under “Me > Settings > Privacy Settings” .

6. Permissions for contacts, precise geolocation, camera, microphone, and photo album are not enabled by default. These will only be accessed with your explicit consent and only when required for specific features or services. You may also withdraw your consent. Even if authorized, we will not collect your data when the feature does not require it.

7. This policy applies to your access and use of our products and services via the  livestream system apps (including lite versions), official website, and software development kits (SDKs) and application programming interfaces (APIs) used by third-party websites and applications.

Below you will find a detailed explanation of how we collect, use, store, transfer, share, and protect personal information, as well as how you may access, correct, delete, or withdraw authorization. Key clauses regarding your personal information rights are highlighted in bold.

1. How We Collect and Use Personal Information

We collect information that you actively provide during service use, as well as information generated through automated means during feature usage or service engagement:

1.1 Registration, Login, Authentication

1.1.1 Registering and Logging Into an Account

a. When you register or log into the livestream system and related services, you may create an account via your mobile phone number. You can also complete your network identity profile (avatar, nickname, password). This information is collected to help you complete registration. You may also optionally provide gender, birth date, location, and personal bio.

b. You may log in using a third-party account, authorizing us to access your public profile information (such as avatar, nickname, and other authorized info) to bind it to your system account. This allows you to directly log in and use the product and services. When logging in via third-party accounts, certain required information may be temporarily written to or read from your clipboard for the purpose of login only and will not be used to collect private information.

1.1.2 Authentication

When using identity verification features or services, you may be required to provide real identity information (real name, ID number, phone number, etc.) as required by laws and regulations. Some of this information is sensitive personal data. You may refuse to provide it, though this may prevent access to certain services, but will not affect the use of other features or services.

1.2 Playback and Browsing

a. To ensure the quality of content recommendations and suggest videos and related information that may interest you, the livestream system may collect necessary log information.

b. The log information includes:

Your operational behavior information: clicks, follows, favorites, searches, browsing, shares

Information you actively provide: feedback, posts, likes, comments

Geolocation data: including precise geolocation collected via GPS, WLAN access points,  Bluetooth, and base stations, as well as approximate location based on network information such as base station, IP, and WLAN

c. Precise geolocation is considered sensitive personal information. If you refuse to provide it,  we will not recommend content based on your precise location. This refusal will not affect your access to other features of the system.

d. We may display or recommend local content (such as in your city or district) based on your approximate location.

1.3 Publishing and Interaction

1.3.1 Content Publishing

a. When you post videos, images, or comments, we will collect and display the content you post along with your nickname and avatar.

b. When using the image/video publishing feature, we will request access to your camera, photos, and microphone. Refusal to grant these permissions will disable this feature but will not affect other functionalities.

c. When using the "Nearby" feature or publishing location-based content, we may request your precise location and collect location data for display. If you deny access to precise location, we  may infer your city/district from your IP address. You can also manually add location tags when posting.

d. When enabling livestreaming or similar features, you may be required to undergo real-name facial recognition as per laws and security requirements. This process may involve collection of your real name, ID number, and facial feature data by us or certified third-party providers. This is sensitive information; you may refuse to provide it, which won't affect use of other functions.

These data will only be used for legal or verification purposes and not for any other purpose without your express consent.

e. We may collect information about you that is indirectly provided by other users, such as comments, posts, or audio/video uploads involving your information.

f. To improve upload speed and experience, your videos may be temporarily uploaded to our  servers before you click "publish." If you cancel or fail to upload, we will immediately delete them.

g. We may locally use facial feature data to offer effects like face stickers. Unless otherwise  stated and authorized, we will not upload, store, or share this data.

1.3.2 Social Interaction

a. When you follow accounts, browse, comment, like, or share, we collect this interaction data and the accounts you follow.

b. To help you manage friends, we may create and maintain your friend list as necessary.

c. Group chats: when using group features, group chat data will be stored accordingly.

d. When interacting with friends, communication data may be collected to support system functionality.

e. Camera access is required to scan QR codes for adding friends. This permission is sensitive. If refused, this feature is unavailable, but other features remain unaffected.

f. Calendar access is required for setting reminders for videos, livestreams, or events. Once granted, we access your calendar to help you schedule and receive notifications.

g. When using the system's messaging feature, your online activity status may be displayed to friends, and you may also see their status.

h. We may recommend friends to you based on phone numbers, contacts, follows, and fans.

i. We may request contact list access. The contact data will be encrypted and used to recommend friends. Contact data is sensitive, and refusing access only affects this feature and  not general usage. If another user has uploaded contact data containing your number, we may  recommend each other accordingly.

j. Based on precise location, we may recommend nearby users. This is also sensitive personal  data. Refusal will disable this feature but not affect other functions.

1.3.4 Notifications

You acknowledge and agree that we may send multiple types of messages (e.g., alerts, verification codes, research invitations) to your contact information provided during product/service use (e.g., phone number). We may also send marketing messages (via SMS or  phone calls) about features, services, or events you might be interested in. If you prefer not to receive such information, you can unsubscribe via SMS or by contacting us directly.

1.4 Search

When using our search service, we collect your search keywords and logs. For better results, some of this data may be temporarily stored locally to show suggestions and history.

1.5 Operations and Security

1.5.1 Operational Safety

We strive to offer a safe and reliable environment and high-quality services.

1.5.2 Device and Log Information

a. To ensure operational quality and system security, we may collect data such as your device  model, OS version, IMEI, unique device ID, MAC address, IP, WLAN, Bluetooth, base station, software version, network type/status/quality, operation logs.

b. To prevent malicious use and ensure efficient operation, we may also collect installed apps or running processes, crash logs, performance stats, app usage frequency, and app source.

c. We may use account, device, and service logs, along with data from partners (if legally permitted or authorized), for security, identity verification, and threat detection.

1.6 Sharing and Activity Participation

When you share or receive content, or participate in activities, we may read your clipboard to identify command codes, share links, or event tokens to support jump-links, sharing, and other features.

1.7 Statistical Analysis

To analyze data such as user retention, activation, and app performance, we may temporarily read clipboard data for attribution analysis. We will not collect your personal privacy  information.

1.8 Changes to Purpose of Personal Data Usage

As our services evolve, new features may be added. If the new features are directly or reasonably related to existing ones, personal information collection will follow the original purpose. If the purpose changes significantly, we will notify you again and request your consent.
